First post

I don’t read many blogs, as I don’t think many of them are interesting. I don’t believe this one will be either. However occasionally, I do come across a absolute gem which has me enthralled for a few minutes, and then eagerly awaiting the next instalment knowing that I will be bitterly disappointed and wonder why I even bothered with blogs in the first place.

I am intrigued by blogs. The first one I ever came across must have been about ten years ago, when I decided to google myself. I soon came across someone who daily updated their weblog, quoting every conversation they had that day verbatim.
Whilst slightly scary, the only thing interesting about this was the authors impressive memory. To say I was sceptical about blogs, may not be correct, I think the biggest thing was that I didn't understand them, were they online public diaries, a space to rant and rave, or somewhere to list you favourite ten things about sock drawers. Trust me, someone, somewhere must have posted that list.

Blogs are perfect toilet reading material. I like many men spend hours a week sat lavatory reading and if I had an iPhone or some such device to browse the internet no doubt I would read blogs and spend even more time there.

So why am I writing this then? Well I am sure the 99% of bloggers are frustrated writters, I am too. Well that is probably not true, I really cannot describe myself as that as I write so infrequently. I would love to write, but I already have a decent job, it pays the bills and keeps me in beer tokens, so for the time being this will be my outlet. Whether anyone reads it or not is not important, the actual discipline of writing is the important factor here for me.

If you do decide to join me on this ride into the unknown, it will probably be fantastically dull, but I promise that when it appears that I have taken a hiatus from posting it will be occasional punctuated, and probably with some self-deprecating waffle of no interest.
